3. Andromeda

In the pilot for this TV series based on an idea by Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star trek. Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) is the captain of the Andromeda Ascendant, a ship which serves in the military force of the Systems Commonwealth. Thanks to a black hole, Hunt and his ship remain in suspended animation for 300 years while his beloved Commonwealth falls into barbarism.
