This is a Disney fictional black holes movie. With some stunning visual effects, this is a fascinating look at Dr. Hans Reinhardt, who wants to enter a Black Hole for scientific purposes. Will it happen? Will they survive? Great science fiction movie.
2. Event Horizon

A suspense film as well as science fiction, this movie kept me on the edge of my seat. Newer than Black Hole, the special effects are even better.
3. Andromeda

In the pilot for this TV series based on an idea by Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star trek. Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) is the captain of the Andromeda Ascendant, a ship which serves in the military force of the Systems Commonwealth. Thanks to a black hole, Hunt and his ship remain in suspended animation for 300 years while his beloved Commonwealth falls into barbarism. This too short-lived series is definitely worth a watch by science fiction fans.
4. Sphere

Based on a Michael Chrichton book, the tagline for the film is, "A thousand feet beneath the sea, the blackest holes are in the mind..." Michael Crichton is a masterful storyteller. The novel was great, and the movie does a passable job of bringing it to life.
5. Blackstar

This cartoon series featured John Blackstar, an astronaut, who is swept through a blackhole, into an ancient alien universe. Trapped on the planet Sagar, Blackstar is rescued by the tiny trobbit people. In turn he joins their fight for freedom against the cruel Overlord who rules by the might of the Powerstar.
